About
Andrew Freed has more than thirty years experience solving sophisticated legal problems for business and individual clients. He gives each matter focused, individual attention, from the most complex issues in multi-million dollar litigation to more routine concerns in smaller matters. Mr. Freed combines "big-firm" experience with seasoned judgment to achieve proven results and cost-effective, client-centered solutions.
In addition to his legal practice experience, Mr. Freed is a trained and certified mediator. This combination of skills affords his clients the best of both worlds: an aggressive advocate who can litigate a case through trial and an accomplished resolution expert who hones in on key issues to reach a favorable outcome as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Prior to establishing his own firm, Mr. Freed practiced with the Boston office of Choate, Hall & Stewart, where he represented large corporate and institutional clients in complex litigation and other business matters. Mr. Freed then worked for General Electric Company, where he managed a national and international portfolio of litigation, focusing on products liability, torts and financial litigation in state and federal courts around the country, including the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Freed is a magna cum laude graduate of Tufts University with a double major in English and Economics. He obtained his law degree with honors from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
While not practicing law, Mr. Freed enjoys exploring the beautiful seaside and other natural riches of Cape Ann, Massachusetts. He plays tennis and basketball as his shrinking knee cartilage permits and is an avid sports fan of too many teams to list. He enjoys time spent with his wife of 28 years, Tracy, a reformed lawyer now working at Harvard University. Andy and Tracy have three wonderful children: Allie, an actress living in Chicago; Jack, working as a foreign affairs consultant in Washington, D.C.; and Charlotte, a student at Hamilton College.
